National Heritage Academies is seeking a full-time paraprofessional for Oakside Preparatory Academy in Waterford Charter Township, MI. The ideal candidate will assess English Language Learner abilities and support their academic growth through targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Preferred bilingual skills.

• Assess English Language Learner student abilities and provide interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess English Language Learner student abilities and provide academic intervention to scholars who are eligible for language support services in either 1:1 or group workshops as directed by the classroom teacher and academic intervention team.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Attend professional development and articulation meetings with classroom teachers and parents as required.

Qualifications

Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional. Click here for the state requirements.

• Bilingual skills, preferred.
• Previous experience working with English as a second language students or with school-aged children, preferred.
• Ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
