Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an English Language Learner (ESL) Teacher for the Great Hearts Western Hills Upper School. The role centers on collaborating to develop lesson plans supporting emergent bilinguals in English language development and ELAR.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, Texas teaching certification, and bilingual/ESL endorsements, with at least 2 years of ESL experience preferred. US work authorization is assumed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required.
• Valid/current Texas Teacher Certification is required.
• Texas Bilingual Endorsement or ESL Supplemental is required.
• Generalist/Core Content Area Certification for assigned grades is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop lesson plans with the ESL Coordinator to support emergent bilinguals’ English development.
• Collaborate on ELAR classwork and individualized classroom accommodations.
• Consult with ESL coordinator and teachers for student needs and support.
• Teach emergent bilinguals in ELAR in small group pull-out settings per lesson plans.
• Assist with curriculum modification and appropriate course work as needed.
• Support program coordination, data review, testing, and assessments.
