Job summary

Options For Youth Public Charter Schools is actively seeking a certificated educator in California to lead English language development for English learners. You will manage a caseload of 50–75 students, provide weekly interventions, and report progress to leaders.

You will prepare course outlines, administer ELPAC tests, and deliver targeted support for LTELs with AR/SGI classes, while fostering PLCs to improve ELL pedagogy and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with second language learners and in second language acquisition.
  • Valid California clear or preliminary single-subject teaching credential required.
  • English Learner Authorization (ELA1 or similar) required.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and instruct English Learners and LTELs with ELD support using varied teaching methods.
  • Manage a caseload of 50–75 students with weekly interventions and progress reporting.
  • Prepare course outlines and administer ELPAC assessments to track progress.
  • Provide pull-out and additional support to LTELs in AR and SGI classes.
  • Lead professional learning communities to support AR teachers with ELL pedagogy.
  • Complete initial ELPAC assessment within 30 days of enrollment and develop IEPs/ILPs.
