ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER (7th - 12th Grade)

JOB TITLE: English Language Arts Teacher 1.0 FTE

Central Linn School District seeks to hire a dynamic and engaging educator for our High School 7-12 English Language Arts classes. We value teachers who can build positive relationships with students, staff, and families and also serve as effective members of our professional learning community.

Central Linn Jr/Sr High School is a 7-12th grade school for four unique communities of Halsey, Brownsville, Shedd, and Peoria and is nestled in the beautiful Willamette Valley, bounded by the Cascade Mountains on the east and the Coastal Range on the west. Ninety minutes in either direction will get you to the coast or the mountains. Our immediate vicinity is the “grass seed capital of the world,” whose fields offer a colorful, ever-changing seasonal array of grass fields interspersed with sheep, cattle, vineyards, and hazelnut orchards. Central Linn is also conveniently located within thirty minutes of Corvallis, Eugene, and within two hours of Bend and Portland.

JOB SUMMARY:

Create a vibrant learning community for children in high school language arts courses. Educate the whole child intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Plan instructional needs of all children using a constructivist approach to teaching and learning; implement a variety of assessments; establish good relations with parents, students, and staff; attend all pertinent faculty, parent, and school meetings; and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain Oregon Teaching Certification with Middle School/High School Level authorization required endorsements.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning for the instructional needs of all students; Attending to the special needs of students; Teaching high expectations for student achievement and behavior;
  • Implementing state and district curriculum; Providing instruction that promotes all skill development, knowledge, and reasoning;
  • Using a variety of assessments to inform instruction; Creating an environment that maximizes student learning with a focus on character development;
  • Developing partnerships that enhance student learning;
  • Modeling and teaching a growth mindset;
  • Providing culturally responsive instruction;
  • Modeling and teaching respect with an awareness of diversity; Demonstrating continuous professional growth.

Salary based on CLEA Licensed contract table. $45,102 - $92,764
