Position Details

2025-2026 School Year

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Meet and instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times.
  2. Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning, utilizing resources provided by the District.
  3. Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation upon request.
  4. Encourage positive classroom behavior and report student compliance to administrators.
  5. Employ various instructional techniques and media suited to the physical environment and student needs.
  6. Implement the District's educational philosophy and goals, with a preference for reading training/background, Response to Intervention, and Common Core State Standards knowledge.
  7. Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  8. Evaluate student progress regularly.
  9. Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policies.
  10. Uphold school rules, regulations, and policies.
  11. Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed.
  12. Participate in faculty meetings and relevant educational discussions.
  13. Collaborate with staff on instructional planning and resource selection.
  14. Contribute to co-curricular activities as assigned.
  15. Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  16. Establish cooperative relationships with colleagues and the community.
Qualifications

Illinois licensure with Middle School English endorsement; ESL endorsement preferred. Knowledge of college readiness skills, common core standards, and experience in these areas is advantageous. Teamwork, reflection, and continuous improvement are essential.
