Position: ELA/SS Teacher Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

DuBois Integrity Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Reading/Social Studies Teachers to join our academic team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching reading and social studies, an ability to engage young learners, and a commitment to meeting state standards while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state reading and social studies standards and curriculum guidelines.
  2. Utilize diverse teaching strategies to meet the varying needs of students.
  3. Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning.
  4. Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments.
  5. Analyze assessment data to identify learning gaps and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  6. Maintain accurate records and document student progress for reporting and improvement purposes.
  7. Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
  8. Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote respectful and responsible behavior.
  9. Use proactive strategies to prevent disruptive behavior and handle challenges constructively.
  10. Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
  11. Provide regular updates on student progress and communicate any concerns promptly.
  12. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
  13. Participate in professional development sessions to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
  14. Contribute to school-wide events and activities.
  15. Support extracurricular math initiatives and enrichment programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  2. Valid teaching certification/license for the appropriate grade levels.
  3. Proven experience in elementary education, preferably in teaching reading and/or social studies.
  4. Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Ability to effectively analyze data to inform instructional practices.
  7. A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous professional growth.
