Job summary

Qualifications

• Completed master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline (English).
• Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is preferred.
• Graduate coursework in rhetoric and composition and/or composition pedagogy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and maintain a classroom environment conducive to student learning.
• Encourage the development of critical thinking skills through appropriate classroom exercises and assignments.
• Advise students toward completion of program, diploma, or degree goals and assist with transfer.
• Participate in program assessment and outcomes evaluation for written communication and support improvement plans.
• Attend meetings and fulfill assigned duties as scheduled and communicate with students via campus portals.
