Focus Interpreting is seeking an English–Farsi Simultaneous Interpreter to provide real-time interpretation at events and conferences in the Los Angeles area.

The role requires fluency in English and Farsi, experience with simultaneous interpretation, and a professional approach to confidentiality and terminology research. This is a freelance, hour-by-hour engagement with assignments paid accordingly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver simultaneous interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other events, ensuring clarity and understanding for both English and Farsi-speaking participants
• Utilize interpretation equipment and technology to provide accurate and immediate translations in fast-paced situations
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times during interpretation sessions
• Prepare for assignments by researching terminology and understanding the specific context and subject matter involved
• Continuously enhance language proficiency and interpretation skills to provide the highest quality service to clients

REQUIREMENTS

• Fluency in both English and Farsi, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages
• Demonstrated experience in simultaneous interpretation, with a solid grasp of the relevant techniques and challenges
• Adept understanding of cultural nuances to facilitate effective communication across language barriers
• Strong listening and analytical skills to ensure precise and effective interpretation
• Prior experience in professional interpreting contexts is preferred
