RCC seeks applicants for our English Teaching Faculty position. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty ranked position, with an excellent benefits package. The hiring salary range will be $52,905 – $81,811, commensurate with education and experience. This position is located on the Glenns campus. The position begins on January 2, 2027.

The primary duties of the English Faculty member will include developing and maintaining quality English curriculum and teaching high-quality courses that support a diverse body of student acquisition of knowledge and skills in the English field. This includes instructional design, delivery, effectiveness, subject-matter expertise and course assessment. Faculty are required to teach 15 credit hours per semester unless released for other duties. Teaching schedules may include day, evening, and weekend classes, including those that are on and off-campus, and online and hybrid modes of delivery. This position will include academic advising, a minimum of 10 office hours per week, completing special projects, mentoring adjunct and dual enrollment faculty, community outreach, and service on college committees. Teaching faculty are expected to maintain currency in their field through various professional development activities such as conferences, projects, publications, and group teaching. This role will be required to use state-of-the-art classroom teaching technologies. While this position will be primarily located on the Glenns Campus, its teaching schedules may include alternative sites and campuses. Finalists will be asked to perform a teaching demonstration.

KSA’s/Required Qualifications

This English teaching faculty position requires a Master’s degree in English or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English and one year of post-secondary teaching experience. In addition, experience using advanced instructional technology including video, audio, and interactive educational software is required.

This role also requires knowledge of effective pedagogical practices, and the ability to define and assess student learning outcomes and create courses with knowledge of instructional teaching platforms, preferably CANVAS.

Additional Considerations

18 graduate credits in a second field, one course in composition pedagogy, and one year of teaching experience with post-secondary or community college teaching are preferred.
