Description

Under administrative direction of an educational administrator, provide lecture and laboratory instruction, to develop curriculum, evaluate performance of students engaged in the study of English as a Second Language, and to perform other related work, as required.

POSITION DUTIES AT A GLANCE

ESSENTIAL: Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain prior to appointment to this faculty position a valid California Class C or higher drivers license in order to accomplish official travel in a District or privately owned vehicle.

Degrees/Experience

ESSENTIAL: Incumbent must possess a valid Master's Degree in TESL, TESOL, Applied Linguistics with a TESL emphasis, Linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or Education with a TESL emphasis OR a Bachelor's Degree in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, or Applied Linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND a Master's Degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, Reading, Speech, or any foreign language OR the equivalent from an accredited education institution(s).

Physical Suitability Requirements:

COMPENSATION

Placement on the https://www.sierracollege.edu/administration/human-resources/bargaining-compensation/ is dependent upon years of experience and level of education. Entry-level is from $71,992.02 to $96,476.20 at the time of employment. The current highest salary attainable after employment is $129,287.32. The District offers a very competitive benefits package, which includes health and welfare as well as income protection. Employees also will be members of the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). Sick leave, sabbatical, and other leaves are available according to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
