Job summary

Trenton Public Schools, part of the Trenton Board of Education, is seeking certified Special Education Teachers for district-wide opportunities. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach secondary English/ELA and Mathematics.

This is a full-time (10-month) position with a salary range of $71,525 to $117,475 annually. Candidates must hold NJ Special Education certification or eligibility and have the appropriate content-area endorsements for secondary assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification or eligibility for the appropriate certification.
• New Jersey Special Education certification is required.
• For secondary assignments, content-area endorsements in English (1410) and Mathematics (1900).

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements written instructional plans that meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of all students.
• Creates and maintains a classroom environment that supports learning and is developmentally appropriate.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives aligned with those goals.
• Demonstrates a commitment to the district's philosophy of education and its instructional goals and objectives through instructional practices and professional conduct.
• Establishes and maintains positive, cooperative relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
• Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Building Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

2. Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification or eligibility for the appropriate certification.

New Jersey Certification Requirements:

Candidates must hold the appropriate New Jersey Special Education certification.

For secondary-level assignments, candidates must hold appropriate secondary content-area endorsement, including:

• English (1410)
• Mathematics (1900)

All certificated positions require a valid certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE). Applicants must upload proof of the appropriate certification for the position at the time of application.
