Job description

Our client is an innovative aerospace company developing next-generation propulsion systems for high-performance aviation and industrial energy applications. Working at the intersection of advanced gas turbine technology and clean-sheet engineering, they're building complex hardware from the ground up in a fast-paced environment where engineers have real ownership and influence over product development.

With significant recent investment and ambitious growth plans, they're expanding their propulsion team and looking for engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems, working across disciplines, and helping shape the future of advanced propulsion.

We're looking for an Engine Structures Analyst to support the structural development of an advanced gas turbine engine from concept through testing and validation.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll perform structural and fatigue analysis on both rotating and static engine components, working closely with design, aerodynamics, thermal, manufacturing, and test engineers. Rather than supporting legacy products, you'll help develop new hardware while contributing to analysis methods, design improvements, and multidisciplinary engineering workflows.

If you're excited by structural mechanics, rotating machinery, and solving challenging engineering problems in a collaborative startup environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Perform structural and life assessments of rotating and static gas turbine components using analytical methods and finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Evaluate fatigue, vibration, durability, and structural integrity across engine hardware
  • Support development of multidisciplinary analysis workflows and engineering toolchains
  • Work closely with mechanical design, aerodynamics, thermal, manufacturing, and test teams to optimise structural performance
  • Contribute to engine integration, prototype builds, testing, and design validation
  • Help improve engineering processes, analysis methods, and automation tools

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 5+ years of structural analysis experience
  • Experience performing stress and life assessments on rotating machinery or complex mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of fatigue analysis including HCF, LCF, thermo-mechanical fatigue, vibration, and dynamic loading
  • Experience using FEA tools such as ANSYS Mechanical, NASTRAN, or similar
  • Familiarity with structural assessment methods such as Goodman diagrams, Campbell diagrams, and durability analysis
  • Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines in a collaborative environment
  • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages is advantageous

Nice to Have

  • Gas turbine, turbomachinery, aerospace propulsion, or rotating equipment experience
  • Engine rig or hardware testing experience
  • Rotordynamics or bearing analysis knowledge
  • Experience with advanced materials including superalloys
  • Dynamic impact analysis (e.g. LS-DYNA)
  • Experience developing automated engineering tools or multidisciplinary analysis workflows (MDAO)
  • Passion for working in a fast-moving, high-ownership engineering environment

What's on Offer

  • Competitive base salary depending on experience
  • Meaningful equity participation
  • Relocation assistance
  • Flexible PTO
  • The opportunity to work on cutting-edge propulsion technology from concept through testing alongside a highly experienced engineering team.
