Insight Global is seeking an Engineering Technologist to support utility and telecommunications infrastructure projects from cradle to grave. This role blends fieldwork, surveying, design, permitting, and project coordination, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on work and office-based engineering support.

The candidate will perform field and office tasks, handle GPS data collection, read maps and drawings, and help navigate easement and permitting processes while collaborating

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in power distribution/utilities.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience in utility/telecom/construction/surveying/field engineering.
• Comfort with field and office work.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Knowledge of utility maps, drawings, and plans.
• Familiar with easement, right-of-way, and permitting processes.
• Experience with cradle-to-grave projects.

Responsibilities

• Support utility and telecom projects from cradle to grave.
• Perform fieldwork and surveying activities.
• Assist with design, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate project tasks and communicate with stakeholders.

Skills and Requirements

At least 2 years of experience within power distribution/ utilitiesHigh school diploma or GED required.Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Surveying, GIS, Construction Management, or related field preferred.Experience working in utility, telecommunications, construction, surveying, or field engineering environments.Comfortable performing both field and office work.Valid driver's license with a good driving record.General knowledge of utility or telecommunications infrastructure.Experience with surveying and GPS data collection.Familiarity with Trimble, Katapult, or similar field collection technologies.Experience reading and interpreting utility maps, construction drawings, and engineering plans.Understanding of easement, right-of-way, and permitting processes.Exp with JETs, Specs, cradle to grave projects
