At Bohannan Huston, we are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Water Systems Engineering Group. In this role, you will provide essential technical support for a variety of infrastructure projects, with a focus on water and wastewater utilities, assisting our engineering teams with the development of design solutions, plan production, and project documentation.

Your Role & Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Technical Support - Assist engineers with project set-up, plan production and design processes.
• Drafting & Design - Support engineering teams with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other design software to create accurate project documentation and drawings. Integrate site design survey coordination and control layouts.
• Project Documentation & Reporting - Assist in preparing project reports, construction documents, and project plans that comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Quality Control - Review designs, drawings, and field data to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and specifications.
• Collaboration & Communication - Work alongside engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution, and assist with communication across teams. Assist engineers with project material quantities for cost purposes.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Professional Experience - 2-5 years of experience in civil engineering, surveying, or a related technical field.
• Academic Excellence -- You have graduated with a high school/equivalent plus technical school or 2-year associate's degree.
• Technical Proficiency - Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and other relevant engineering software. You are a self-starter with basic guidance from design engineers on construction plan production.
• Attention to Detail - Strong ability to review technical data, ensure accuracy in designs, and identify potential issues before they impact the project.
• Strong Communication Skills - Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both written and verbally, and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Problem-Solving Mindset - An innovative thinker who can troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in the field and the office.
• Commitment to Safety - Experience working in compliance with safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
