Vickers and Nolan Enterprises (VNE) is seeking a TS/SCI/CI Poly cleared Engineering Technician VI in Charleston, SC. The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in engineering tasks and systems support for government projects.

The position covers engineering, testing, configuration management, cybersecurity, and program management support. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree with 15 or 20+ years of experience, respectively.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s level degree

Experience:

  • Fifteen (15) years of experience w/ Master’s
  • Twenty (20) years of experience w/ Bachelor’s

The Engineering Technician III performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:

  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapting standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions
  • Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and recording test data
  • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation
  • Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts, developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeking sources to clarify information
  • Written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role
  • TS/SCI/CI Poly level Clearance required.
Job Description

The scope of work covers systems engineering, technical, and management support services for the government and its associated acquisition, technology, logistics, and program management offices. Support is provided to multiple stakeholders responsible for the development, integration, and sustainment of specialized operational capabilities. The scope of support includes program management, engineering analysis and design, configuration management, testing, quality control, sustainment, cybersecurity, training, and field service representative (FSR) support for a static collection capability that functions as a subsystem within a larger integrated system.

This is in support of the development, production, and sustainment of specialized intelligence capabilities. Configuration management and associated systems engineering activities are conducted through a collaborative effort among multiple government and partner organizations to ensure interoperability, performance, and lifecycle support.

Essential Duties of the Job
  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face

  • While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be exposed to chemicals related to office equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e. general office environment).
