Job summary

San Bernardino County’s Land Use Services – Land Development Division seeks an Engineering Technician V to perform advanced technical tasks and supervise field investigations as needed. You’ll use GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365 to prepare design materials and negotiate with collaborating agencies.

The ideal candidate will have substantial civil engineering experience and may qualify through several education/experience paths.

Qualifications

Requires 15 semester units in civil engineering or closely related field.
Five years of full-time technical civil engineering work experience.
EIT certification with four years of relevant experience.
Education/certification must be from an accredited institution and work rights verified.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced technical tasks in land development and project tracking.
Supervise or assist field investigations and prepare design exhibits.
Draft conditions of approval, agreements, and informational materials.
Coordinate with Code Enforcement, Planning, Building and Safety and other agencies.
