City of Cincinnati is seeking an experienced professional to manage distribution division work, including restoration contracts, permit processes, and coordination with inspectors across the region.
The role supports engineering staff through drafting, project planning, and recordkeeping, while supervising staff and mentoring team members to improve processes and outcomes.
This position is within the Distribution Division of GCWW. This position will be responsible for: Managing Permanent restoration, topsoil and seed and small asset repair maintenance contracts; Responding to large main breaks to evaluate restoration scope; Evaluating contracts up for bid regarding estimated spend, scope, addition or subtracting items within the contract etc.; Work with inspectors across Hamilton County and the City of Mason; and applying for permits for GCWW work.
Provides support to engineering and management staff through the performance of drafting and design duties; supervises and manages the planning, prioritization and scheduling of work activities associated with construction and professional services of certain projects; assists in the acquisition of property rights and environmental approvals for construction projects as necessary; attend Pre-development meetings to provide terms and conditions for development; be responsible for the proper compilation and filing of records related to the assigned area of responsibility; provides accurate technical information to other departments, engineering/design professionals and the general public; supervises the work of support staff; participates in continuous process improvements; and coaching and mentoring employees.

Eight years of technician experience performing any combination of the following technical tasks generating technical reports; reviewing or revising plans and drawings; collecting engineering data; analyzing engineering data; or troubleshooting facility performance issues.

Six years of technician experience performing any combination of the following technical tasks generating technical reports; reviewing or revising plans and drawings; collecting engineering data; analyzing engineering data; or troubleshooting facility performance issues with an associate degree or equivalent (60 college semester hours total), from an accredit college or university, including 15 semester hours in major coursework in engineering, engineering technology, engineering computer applications, mathematics, or computer aided drafting or closely related fields.
Must have a valid Driver's License
Must be an excellent communicator and team builder.
Military education and experience may be substituted for college level course work at the lower and upper division baccalaureate and graduate levels and apprenticeship training at the vocational certificate level on a case-by-case basis based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations.
Predominately indoor office environment, some outdoor work; exposure to computer screens; exposure to extremes in weather conditions outdoors; work on slippery or uneven surfaces, around moving vehicles; exposure to dust, fumes from naphtha, gasoline and other substances.
Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; moderate lifting and carrying; general manual dexterity required; must be able to operate assigned vehicle.
