Location: District 2 Office, Mason City, Iowa, 428 43rd St SW, Mason City, IA 50401
Shift Requirements: M-F, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Flexible schedule, Some travel and overnight stays required.
As an Engineering Technician Senior – Primary Design, you will perform technical design tasks related to the engineering design and development of highway improvement projects. This position works under the supervision of the Assistant District Engineer (classified as a Transportation Engineer Executive). Daily direction and assignments will be provided by a District Design Engineer (classified as a Transportation Engineer Specialist) who acts as a lead worker. The person performing these duties as Engineering Technician Senior is expected to work under general direction, to undertake complicated technical assignments and complete these assignments working independently or as part of a team. Many assignments will involve significant coordination of efforts and information with other District staff, staff in the DOT’s Central Offices, consulting engineers, and local government agencies. This position works in the District 2 covering a 19-county area in Northeast and North Central Iowa.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Special Requirements: Possess and maintain a valid Class C non-commercial driver’s license.
