Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Engineering Technician team member to support engineers, manage technical data, and produce comprehensive engineering documentation. You will perform calculations, analyze data, and create diagrams to assist evaluations and design changes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2-year technical degree in related discipline with 1 year DoD/USN experience
• High school diploma/equivalent with 3 years DoD/USN experience
• Confidential Security Clearance required
• Able to work in a shipboard environment
• U.S. Citizen required

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks
• Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data including lab results and design changes
• Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics
• Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas
• Conduct preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided
• Make quantitative judgments concerning technical data
• Use a personal computer for analyses and development of documentation and reports
• Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis
• Support active Test Engineering projects within Newport News Shipbuilding's Division
