Job summary

Applied Technical Systems, Inc. seeks an Engineering Technician to support NSWC Panama City Division. The role involves depot-level activities, maintenance, upgrades, testing, inspection, and reclamation of Lab equipment and items within Code X Laboratories.

You’ll troubleshoot equipment, communicate under pressure, and suggest improvements. Collaboration with engineers, on-site investigations, and material provisioning will be routine.

Qualifications

  • Possess or previously held a Secret Clearance.
  • Three to Five years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Haystack, CMPRO, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgement; able to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to technical problems.
  • Inspecting, testing hardware, and modifying systems per engineering changes.
  • Conducting research, collecting data, and writing daily reports.
  • Using CAD designs and implementing feedback from Engineers.

Job Description

ATS is seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division. This contract will support the Science & Technology Department (Code X) Laboratories under NSWC PCD cognizance.


To be successful as an Engineering Technician, you should demonstrate a sound understanding of Depot-Level (D-Level) activities, performing maintenance or repair involving the overhaul, upgrading, rebuilding, testing, inspection, and reclamation (as necessary) of Science & Technology Department (Code X) Laboratories, equipment end items, parts, components, assemblies, and subassemblies. You should be able to troubleshoot equipment, communicate effectively under pressure, and provide effective suggestions for improvement.


Responsibilities


  • Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.

  • Inspecting, testing hardware, and modifying systems per engineering changes.

  • Conducting research, collecting data, and writing daily reports.

  • Use CAD designs and implement feedback from Engineers.

  • Provide technical assistance to the Fleet, including on-site engineering investigations and consultant engineering.

  • Conduct supply support, coordination for procuring, kitting, and delivery for Science & Technology Department (Code X) Laboratories.

  • Running tests, diagnostics, and calibrations.

  • Conducting experiments and investigations under the guidance of Engineers.

  • Inspecting inventory and reordering materials and technical components.

  • Analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement.

  • Maintaining records and assisting with presentations.

  • Attending conferences and participating in other learning and growth opportunities.

Physical Demands

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Currently possess or recently held a clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
