Job summary

Northrop Grumman is hiring an Engineering Technician – Level 2/3 for Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, FL. You will operate electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, install and test components, and work with coatings, schematics and test equipment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, maintaining safety and quality, and potential overtime. A valid security clearance and NASA background check are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Must pass NASA background check.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and electronic work instructions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to support rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment, including ladders, stairs and work platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to safety, quality, cost and schedule as part of the team.
  • Follow and execute computer-based work instructions.
  • Share knowledge with team members.
  • Act with urgency without compromising safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In This Job, You Will
  • Operate electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.

This position is a 4/10 schedule (10 hr. days, with every Friday off). As demand grows, we can anticipate scheduled Friday workdays, the possibility of rotating shifts, and the need for overtime.

This position can be filled at either a level 2 or level 3.

Basic Qualifications For Level 2
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a NASA background check.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and electronic work instructions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, requiring limited oversite; flexible and adaptable to varying work scope and tasks.
  • Proficient in use of manual tools, torque wrenches, power tools, pneumatic tools, and electronic test equipment such as a Fluke Meter or Oscilloscope.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to support rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing ladders, stairs, and work platforms. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to Operate heavy equipment (cranes, forklifts, manlifts, tugs)

Preferred Qualifications

Primary Level Salary Range: $27.00 - $34.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $34.00 - $40.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
