Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo, CA seeks an Engineering Technician 1 or 2 to join our team. The role supports building, testing, and analyzing materials while assisting engineers and lab staff in a production environment.

The position requires a HS diploma (or equivalent) with related experience for level 2, ability to lift 50 lbs, and basic MS Office skills. On-site work with up to 10% travel, and US citizenship with the ability to obtain Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Engineering Technician 1: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Engineering Technician 2: High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Basic Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Candidate MUST be a US citizen and MUST be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Machine basic parts and fixtures per drawings and work instructions under supervision.
• Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and specimens using standard shop practices and hand tools.
• Operate the waterjet system for assigned cuts, stage materials, follow procedures, and verify completed parts.
• Perform daily cleanup and routine care of lab spaces, machine shop, and shared equipment.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance on the Waterjet and other Machine Shop Tools with Facilities and outside vendors.
• Coordinate calibration for electronic Laboratory equipment with the Metrology group and outside vendors.
