Job summary

Chugach Government Solutions in Chesapeake, VA seeks an Engineering Technician IV to perform non-routine and complex assignments, planning and executing projects with limited scope and coordinating with related teams.

You will analyze data, plan tests, repair equipment, develop engineering documents, and travel as needed; must pass background check and drug test.

Qualifications

Position Location

This position is based in Chesapeake, VA.

Hourly pay range: $28.86-$31.25/hr

Job Overview

The Engineering Technician IV performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, and contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes and integrates the technical work of others. Supervisor or professional engineer outlines objectives, requirements, and design approaches. Completed work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• From general guidelines and specifications (e.g., size or weight requirements), analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc. May check and analyze drawings or equipment to determine the adequacy of drawings and design.
• Plans or assists in planning tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results; and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of supported electronic equipment.
• Development and review of engineering documents and drawings and provide corrections as needed.
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Ability to travel and work independently.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

• Keep managers and supervisors apprised of their progress, ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
