Job summary

Job description

General Summary

As an Engineering Technician, you will frequently collaborate with Engineers across Qualcomm to optimize the utilization of our equipment and components. You will play a key role in the preliminary stages of our technical processes. Engineering Technicians will also be responsible for upkeeping and implementing operations and safety standards in the workplace to ensure all components of our equipment is properly handled.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree.
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of Engineering Technician or related work experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Frequently transports and installs equipment weighing at least 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience with general computer skills and Microsoft applications.
  • 1+ year of experience in Semiconductor or related industry.
  • Military experience or training in electronics field (Rank E4+).
  • 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Transports, installs, upgrades, and configures moderately complex equipment and components, with minimal supervision.
  • Performs moderately complex measurements, documents test results and KPIs, and maintains malfunction records.
  • Troubleshoots and performs basic repair work, rework, removal, and adjustments to equipment as necessary with individuals inside own team and with other teams.
  • Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform moderately complex tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
  • Executes manual and automated test plans and provides some input on test cases and test procedures. Reproduces and debugs moderately complex issues.
  • Tracks the purchasing, shipping/transporting, receiving and usage of inventory and equipment for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects.
Level of Responsibility
  • Works under supervision.
  • Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information.
  • Tasks consist of a limited number of steps which can be referenced using directions or manuals.
Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$22.85 - $34.27. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. In addition, Qualcomm offers a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants.
