Job summary

Washtenaw County Road Commission seeks an Engineering Technician III in the Design & Construction section of the Engineering Department. You will oversee QC inspection activities, review and prepare plans, and ensure compliance with WCRC and MDOT procedures and documentation for transportation construction, including roadway and bridge work.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in civil/engineering tech.
Minimum five years as Technician II or equivalent performing QC inspection and plan prep.
Experience reviewing and preparing transportation construction plans/documents.

Responsibilities

Ensure conformance of transportation construction activities with procedures, specs, and regulations.
Review and prepare transportation construction plans, specs, contracts, and estimates.
Maintain engineering file systems and document daily inspection reports and site logs.
Assist project engineer with scheduling and coordinating personnel and field staff.
Provide timely responses to stakeholders and attend project meetings.
Analyze laboratory and field data from investigations and utilize equipment onsite.
