ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, seeks a Mechanical Technician to support the ASTROS Contract as an Engineering Technician III at AFRL.

The role emphasizes maintenance, equipment prep, and facility support with a strong safety focus. Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with basic shop tools; willingness to overtime in the Mojave Desert is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of general maintenance or facility operations.
• Ability to read and interpret basic drawings or schematics.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Must wear PPE and maintain safety focus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of facility components, mechanical assembly, and layout prep.
• Supports maintenance, repair, and modifications of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
• Assists with room layout preparation, removing legacy hardware, and coordinating basic mechanical setups.
• Receives daily instructions, provides feedback, and completes work with minimal supervision.
• Must plan safety into every aspect of the work.
• Wears assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Will be required to work overtime or support different work shifts with little to no notice.
• Must be able to communicate job status clearly and meet project deadlines.
