Eagle Systems, Inc. seeks a Facilities Technician to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Technical and Engineering Support Services at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

The role involves adapting standard procedures to non-standard assignments and working with engineers as needed. You will perform testing, data extraction, and assist in design modifications, while coordinating facility work to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School diploma or GED and a valid US driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain U.S. Government drug screening standards.
  • Must obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • Three (3) years of engineering technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a Facilities Technician in support of E3 Technical and Engineering Support Services.
  • Perform assignments not completely standardized; adapt procedures as needed.
  • Construct components or simple models and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Follow layout and diagrams to assemble devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize impact to facility users.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

Functions as a Facilities Technician in support of Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Technical and Engineering Support Services. Performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:

  • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models oradaptsstandard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
  • Followingspecific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
  • Conductingvarious tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment andrecordstest data.
  • Extractingand compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or, inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
  • Assistingin design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures andmodifications, andusing judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.

Duties also include participating in aircraft moves as a wing walker, brake rider, or directs aircraft during towing, ground taxi, or ground turn operations; operates test equipment, simulators, instrumentation, and/or aircraft systems during testingin accordance with approved test plans or standard operating procedures; and coordinates maintenance activities or associated facility work projects to minimize impacts to facility customer utilization.

Duties may include performing other tasks on an as-needed basis. Position is located at NAS Patuxent River, MD. RequisitionESI 0204.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Requires a High School diploma or GED and avalid US driver’s license.
  • Must be able to lift/moveobjectsup to50 lbs.
  • Must be able to passand maintainU.S. Government drug screening standards.
  • Mustbeable to obtain/retain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • Three (3) years ofengineering technicianexperience is preferred.
  • Prior militaryand aircraft ground handling operations to include use of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) experienceishighly desired.
  • Salary Range: $25.72-$28.79/hr depending on experience/skillsets.
