Job Description
This role involves assisting in daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment for night vision image intensifier production. It is a hands-on engineering technician position, with over 80% of time spent interacting with equipment, operators, and building/repairing tooling. Responsibilities include process optimization, cost reduction, waste elimination, and training staff to improve quality and efficiency. The goal is to minimize safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.
The ideal candidate will have proficiency with hand and machine tools, gauges, test instruments, and process equipment, with the ability to read and follow procedures. Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for waste reduction and efficiency improvement is required. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
