Elbit Systems of America - Night Vision is a world leader in night vision technology, with over two million Generation 3 image intensifier tubes produced, securing more than 90 patents, and supplying products to nearly 100 allied countries. Our team of over 500 talented employees operates in Roanoke, Virginia.
The primary responsibility is assisting in the daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes for night vision image intensifiers. This is a hands-on engineering technician role, involving interaction with equipment and operators, building/repairing mechanical tooling, and dispositioning non-conforming products. Additional duties include optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing cost reduction initiatives, and training production staff to enhance work processes and product quality. The goal is to minimize safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.
Successful candidates will have proficiency with hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment. They should be capable of reading and following procedures and applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
