Job Description

The primary responsibility is assisting in the daily operations and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and processes for night vision image intensifiers. This is a hands-on engineering technician role, involving interaction with equipment and operators, building/repairing mechanical tooling, and dispositioning non-conforming products. Additional duties include optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing cost reduction initiatives, and training production staff to enhance work processes and product quality. The goal is to minimize safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and production issues.

Successful candidates will have proficiency with hand and machine tools, precision gauges, test instruments, and process equipment. They should be capable of reading and following procedures and applying Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 2 years of technical experience in manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience in training others
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance
  • Compliance with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and company policies
  • Willingness to work an off-shift schedule
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, review, and inspection
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum equipment
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments
  • Proficiency in MS Access queries
  • Experience with statistical analysis software like Minitab or JMP
  • Knowledge of coding and scripting languages such as Visual Studio, Python, or JMP scripting
  • Experience with process improvement and Six Sigma certification (Yellow, Green, Black Belt)
