Job summary

The State of North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician II (S) to support Location & Surveys. You will operate field survey equipment and contribute to highway route surveys in the field or office, applying standard civil engineering practices.

You will perform complex CAD and data tasks, create plan sheets and survey data for TIP projects, including hydrological surveys, horizontal alignments, and GPS field work, with supervision from higher level

Qualifications

• Experience using CADD and computer equipment in highway design and surveying.
• Experience planning and leading work of lower-level technicians in field and office work.
• Experience with field survey equipment and GPS field work.
• Experience developing maps/plans using CADD software and standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate field survey equipment as part of a survey crew for highway projects.
