Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Supervisor II (NS) in the Location and Surveys Unit to lead geomatics projects, oversee staff, and ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery of transportation facilities.

You will serve as SME for geomatics engineering, directing complex work and providing professional surveying guidance across Division projects, with emphasis on adherence to standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience applying geomatics engineering rules, practices and standards.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in NC may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct and evaluate the geomatics-oriented group within the Division.
  • Plan, evaluate and estimate Division projects and direct staff and engineers/managers accordingly.
  • Provide uniform geomatics engineering and contract administration practices to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Mitigate technical/logistical issues and deliver projects on time and within budget.
