Job summary

CACI International Inc. seeks a MILSATCOM Engineering Technician to support STORMS contract at Vandenberg SFB, CA. You will perform maintenance on DSCS/WGS satellite comms, RF, and secure systems, and document activities in IMDS, ensuring readiness of mission-critical assets.

Role requires climbing antennas, coordinating with DWOCs and users, and upholding safety and DoD guidelines while delivering reliable support to mission partners.

Qualifications

• AA/Technical diploma or 3 years of related experience; 7 years in lieu of degree.
• Interfacing with active-duty military and government personnel.
• US Citizenship and active Secret Security Clearance.
• Comfortable with heights and Fall Arrest Systems.
• Able to work with hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Proficient with Telecommunications Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and similar test gear.

Job description

The Opportunity:

CACI International Inc. has a great opportunity for a MILSATCOM Engineering Technician (ET) to provide Mission Essential support to the Satellite Control Network Tracking Station Operations Remote Site and Mission Partners (STORMS) contract which operates and maintains two MILSATCOM terminals at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA.

Responsibilities:

ET Operations and Maintenance:

• Perform operations and corrective/preventive maintenance on telecommunications equipment, RF systems and equipment, secure communications equipment, and mechanical/antenna equipment.
• Documents operations, performance testing, troubleshooting and maintenance activities in IMDS.
• Completes paperwork for equipment and spares inventories, and reports.
• Ascends and descends ladders and platforms on antenna towers at heights of 40 feet or more and frequently positions self to work on equipment mounted lower/upper equipment racks.
• Interacts with the WSOCs, distant end Earth Terminals, and individual users for initial circuit activations, configuration, troubleshooting, modifying, adjusting and decommissioning.
• Perform maintenance on energized electrical circuits and equipment as required.

Required Skills:

• Experience in troubleshooting at a system and circuit card / module level, coordinating and participating in RF and telecommunications troubleshooting efforts, and customer service for the Department of Defense.
• Background in operations and maintenance of DSCS/WGS satellite communications equipment.
• Background maintaining communications / electronics equipment.
• Previous experience supporting government and/or Department of Defense customers.
• Ability to interpret and understand technical drawings, technical publications, policies and directives, and apply those skills to meet mission objectives and remain compliant with State and Federal laws.
• Conduct yourself with a Safety and Security mindset at all times while on Federal Installations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Education: AA/Vocational/Technical plus 3 years of experience (7 years of experience in lieu of degree) withmanaging/overseeing geographically separated Air Force/DoD contract operations, maintenance, and base operations functions.
• Interfacing with active-duty military and government civil service personnel.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Comfortable with heights and Fall Arrest Systems.
• Must be able to work with hand tools.
• Qualified in the use of Electronic Test Equipment including Telecommunications Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Digital Multimeters, etc.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$23.05
