Job summary

Confluent Medical Technologies in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join our team. You will support the engineering group in process improvements, transfers, and equipment qualification in a fast-paced medical device environment.

This role requires a high school diploma and technical coursework or degree, plus 0–2 years of related experience. Proficiency with MS Office and Epicor is desirable, with a strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering on process improvements and transfers.
  • Set up facilities and new production lines.
  • Execute IQ protocols for new equipment.
  • Update Epicor production control with methods, times, yields.
  • Coordinate with engineers and supply chain on tooling purchases.
  • Support manufacturing in planning and executing improvements.
  • Implement ECOs to keep documentation compliant.

We are looking for an Engineering Technician I to join our team in beautiful Chattanooga, TN!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
  • Provide support to the engineering team on the planning, execution and control of the process improvements and transfers.
  • Contribute on maintaining safe and clean work environment by following company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Support the engineering team on the set up of the facilities and new production lines.
  • Execute Installation Qualification protocols of new equipment during process transfers if needed.
  • Coordinate with engineers and supply chain the purchasing of tooling and supplies for training, validations and production start up.
  • Responsible for execution of engineering studies, dry runs or design of experiments in the floor.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing department on the planning and execution of process improvements.
  • Coordinate and/or execute engineering change orders (ECO’s) to keep the documentation system in compliance with our regulation and policies as well as assure documentation is clear, updated and accurate for operators.
  • Update the production control system (Epicor) with proper method of manufacturing, standard times and yields.
  • Responds to and participates in corrective action implementation to observations identified in internal audits.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma and technical degree, engineering studies and/or 0-2 years of experience related are required.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Team work, ability to work with low supervision, learns quickly and independently in the context of industrial or technical activities; seeks opportunities to extend and deepen learning.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
