Dairyland Power Cooperative is seeking a CAD Drafter to support engineering by designing transmission lines, substation upgrades, and plant modifications. You will prepare CAD drawings, one-lines, schematics, and maps under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities include developing material lists, maintaining records, and updating diagrams during construction and maintenance. Strong CAD and organizational skills are essential for accurate, timely deliverables.
Hiring Salary Range: $29.38 - $44.09. Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.
Support Engineering by assisting with the design of new transmission lines, new substations, substation upgrades, transmission line rebuilds and plant modifications. Under minimal supervision, provide computer-aided drafting (CAD) services for power stations, substations, transmission lines, environmental projects and other Dairyland Power Cooperative departments. Develop, maintain and update Dairyland’s system operating diagrams and transmission system maps.
Education & Experience: Associate Degree in electrical, civil, structural, or mechanical drafting/design with four (4) years of relevant experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil, or structural systems and their components is required. AutoCAD experience required. Maintenance, operational or engineering experience in power delivery, power generation, or similar industrial facility is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), raster editing programs, personal computer, and Microsoft Office suite of programs. Good communication skills both verbally and written. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task multiple task assignments.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand/sit; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally may be required to lift up to 40 pounds.
