Qualifications

• Associates degree or two years civil engineering tech experience and valid driver’s license.
• Sr requires two-year post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering Technology with four years on-the-job experience; MN/DOT certs listed.
• CAD experience preferred and knowledge of civil engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary field surveys for road and bridge projects.
• Prepare CAD-based construction drawings.
• Utilize construction plans and survey equipment to provide construction zone staking.
• Inspect, monitor, and document construction projects.
• Sample and test materials to determine compliance with specifications and maintain records.
• Perform calculations to determine cost estimates and pay quantities.
• Help resolve issues among contractors, landowners, utilities and public agencies.
• Conduct bridge safety inspections and maintain records.
