Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Health Administration in Reno, NV seeks an Engineering Technician to plan, design, analyze, and layout new construction and modernization of VA buildings. Duty location is Reno, NV, within commutable distance.

You will work with Chief Engineers, lead multidiscipline design teams, prepare plans and estimates, and oversee construction phases. Telework is eligible Ad Hoc. Must provide technical expertise on BIM, AutoCAD, and related software.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Works with Chief Engineers and Engineering Staff for the efficient implementation of major construction projects.
• Leads multidiscipline design teams or contracted design services to prepare complete design packages.
• Prepares plans, specifications, and estimates for complex projects.
• Informs Chief Engineer of plans for ongoing major projects with contractors and facility management staff.
• Assists in oversight of design, construction, repair, renovation and modernization of buildings and facilities.
• Performs construction management tasks during the construction phase.
