Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Engineering Technician - Controls to provide technical support for manufacturing operations, controls systems, and process improvement initiatives. The role emphasizes day-to-day floor support, documentation, and qualification execution while aligning with cGMP, FDA, ISO, and OSHA standards.

It leads to troubleshooting and startup activities, with potential growth as additional competencies develop. Training lasts 1–3 months with a night shift after completion.

Qualifications

Shift: Night shift following completion of training; 11p-730a

Training: For the initial 1-3 months (depending on the individual) 7a-330p EST

Position Summary

The Engineering Technician - Controls provides technical support for manufacturing operations, controls systems, and process improvement initiatives. This role supports compliance with cGMP, FDA, ISO, OSHA, and company procedures while assisting Engineering and Production teams with troubleshooting, commissioning, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.

This position is responsible for day-to-day manufacturing floor support, technical documentation, execution of qualification protocols, and assistance with engineering projects. The role may expand as additional competencies are developed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Relevant technical coursework required.
  • Associate's Degree (AA/AS) preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, ISO, and/or cGMP).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Maintenance, Skilled Trades, Manufacturing Engineering, or Controls Engineering preferred.
  • Industrial controls and automation systems.
  • PLC, HMI, and VFD troubleshooting and programming.
  • Electrical controls and instrumentation.
  • Manufacturing equipment commissioning and startup.
  • Process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
