Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years experience in structural steel detailing, modeling, or fabrication preferred.
• Proficiency in Microstation or AutoCAD required; Tekla experience preferred.

Job description

High Steel Structures LLC is proud of the quality reputation we've earned as the steel fabricator of choice for North America's transportation infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team.

The Engineering Technician will primarily work in a checking role with a team, reviewing 2-D CAD shop drawings and 3-D CAD models for structural steel fabrication. The Technician must develop a thorough understanding of High Steel’s drawing standards, fabrication practices, and be proficient in reading and interpreting contract plans and owner specifications. Additionally, the Technician may assist in 2-D drafting and 3-D modeling as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in structural steel detailing, modeling, or fabrication preferred.
• Associate degree in a related technical field preferred.
• Proficiency in Microstation or AutoCAD required; experience in 3D modeling and Tekla preferred.
• Strong skills in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to read and interpret contract plans and technical documents related to steel fabrication.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn company systems and technical processes.
• Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
