Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. seeks an Electronics Technician to apply extensive technical knowledge to diagnose and repair advanced electronic systems. You will reference circuit interrelationships and use precise test equipment to guide work sequencing and instrument selection.

The role requires hands-on experience with calibration, metrology, and fabrication as needed, including soldering, cable management, and connector repair, in a DoD environment. On-site work in Charleston, SC is expected.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Advanced Electronics Training, Civilian or military.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electronics technician.
  • Experience in Electronics Metrology for time and frequency equipment.
  • Experience with precision test equipment for metrology.

Responsibilities

  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve electronic equipment problems.
  • Reference knowledge of circuits and test instruments to determine work sequence.
  • Install, repair, test and checkout electronic equipment and systems using appropriate test equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals and specs; ensure work complies with standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisor or higher-level technician for clarity.

Job description

Primary Functions:
  • Applycomprehensivetechnical knowledge to solve electronic equipment problems.
  • Reference knowledge of interrelationships of circuits and judgment in determining work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments.
  • Execute principles of electricity and electronics as they apply to shop practices and techniques involving electrical and electronic circuitry.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, manuals, handbooks and technical specifications; sufficient knowledge and skills required to install, repair, test and checkout electronic equipment and systems using the appropriate test equipment.
  • Ensure work performed is in specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments.
  • Work closely with supervisor or a higher-level technician for clarity
  • Must perform common installation tasks:
    • Soldering
    • Cable Dressing
    • Cable Tray
    • Conduit
    • Repair/make Connectors
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Certifications: Solderingcertification, such as, IPC7711.
  • AdvancedElectronics Training, Civilian or military.
  • Minimumof 5years of experience as anelectronics technician witha workingknowledge and repair experience of advanced electronic systems and equipment.
  • Experience in Electronics Metrologyrequiredwith emphasis on maintenance and alignment of sophisticated DoD time and frequency equipment such as Cesium Beam Frequency Standards and other timing standards.
  • Experience and ability to make measurements using sophisticated test and measuring equipment such as Allan Deviation Timing Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, ElectronicCountersand other test equipment used in Time and Frequency Metrology.
  • Hands on experience independently troubleshooting complex analog and digital circuits.
  • Has the ability to design and fabricate as required.
