Job summary

HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding team is seeking a technically capable professional for engineering support. The role involves gathering and formatting technical data, preparing documentation and schematics, and performing calculations to support evaluations.

Requires an Associate’s Degree with related experience; Navy Nuclear Power School graduates and NNS Apprentice School graduates are preferred. On-site work with travel and a strong benefits package is offered.

Salary Range: $54,000.00 to $68,000.00

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range

The Role

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
