Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Irvine seeks an entry-level candidate to support semiconductor analysis in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will perform cross-section sample preparation, optical microscopy, SEM/EDX, and X-ray inspection, and you will document results in technical reports and presentations while collaborating with process, design, and quality engineering to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or pursuing Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform cross-section sample preparation on semiconductor devices using mechanical polishing.
• Conduct optical microscopy, SEM/EDX, and X-ray inspection to analyze materials, defects, and interfaces.
• Collaborate with process, design, and quality engineering teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory tools such as cross-section polishers and imaging systems.
• Document analysis results through detailed technical reports and presentations.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates should have Associates degree or be currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field. No prior industry experience is required

• Excellent problem- solving, documentation, and communication skills
• Fluency in MS Office Suite
