System One is seeking an Engineering Technician for a 100% travel contract position in Oklahoma City, OK. The role involves supporting installation, testing, and commissioning of communications racks, fiber optics, telecom systems, and related infrastructure in fast-paced field environments.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Basic Microsoft Office, internet, and email skills.
  • Experience with fiber optics, telecom systems, RF, or complex electronics (5+ years preferred).
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support site preparation for contractor installation of communications racks and infrastructure.
  • Install power circuits, grounding, outlets, cable trays, conduits per engineering packages.
  • Assist fiber optic cabling, telecom infra, monitors, voice recorders, and comms equipment.
  • Assist LTE antenna installation and establish cable pathways.
  • Remove and replace electrical components and wiring.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems from schematics/blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot/align/repair comms and audio systems to component level.
  • Support testing, verification, inspections, and commissioning to ensure systems operate.
  • Install sensors, radios, computers, cabling, and comms in field environments.
  • Support redline updates and field documentation during construction.
  • Perform additional field installation and technical support duties as assigned.

Job Title: Engineering Technician - 100% Travel

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Type: Contract

Compensation: $25-35

Hours: 40.0

Responsibilities
  • Support site preparation for contractor installation of communications racks ranging from wall-mounted racks to multi-rack configurations
  • Install critical power circuits, grounding systems, convenience outlets, cable trays, conduits, and related infrastructure as specified within engineering packages
  • Support fiber optic cabling, telecom infrastructure, monitors, voice recorder systems, and communications equipment
  • Assist in LTE antenna installation activities and establish cable pathways for communications infrastructure
  • Remove and replace electrical components, wire bundles, terminal blocks, connectors, and related hardware
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems utilizing schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical publications, and related documentation
  • Troubleshoot, align, calibrate, and repair communications and audio equipment to the component level
  • Support testing, operational verification, inspections, and commissioning activities to ensure systems are fully operational
  • Install sensors, radios, computers, cabling, and communications systems in fast-paced field environments and varying weather conditions
  • Support redline updates and field documentation activities during construction and installation efforts
  • Perform additional field installation and technical support duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license required

  • Basic Microsoft Office, internet, and email skills
  • Experience with supporting fiber optics, telecom systems, RF communications, or complex electronic equipment (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience with OTDR testing, telecom cabling, wireless systems, or communications infrastructure preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and field coordination abilities
  • Preferred: Military, trade school, technical school, or advanced electronics training; experience supporting radar, radio, telecommunications, networking, or navigational systems
