The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in Baton Rouge seeks an Engineering Technician 1–4 to assist the Project Engineer in daily construction office tasks, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with DOTD policies and federal regulations.
This role handles project records, change orders, payroll, EEO reporting, and administrative duties while coordinating with inspectors, contractors, and DOTD staff to support accurate, timely project delivery.

The overall function of this position is responsible for assisting the Project Engineer and other employees belonging to Unit 236 in the daily activities and responsibilities of the construction office.
The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and be able to handle unforeseen conditions or issues as they may arise.

Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
Six months of experience in sub-professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance.
