Job summary

Trebor International, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to support engineering and operations. You will help meet production schedules, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to new product development and change control processes.

You will mentor assembly teams and collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Summary

The Operations Engineering Technician is a detail-oriented and technically skilled role that supports Engineering and Operations. The Engineering Technician works closely with the Operations and Engineering teams to meet production schedules by building product, troubleshoot technical issues, improve product performance, increase production efficiency, decrease cost, create and clarify work instructions and contributes to new product development and the release of these new products to our customers. The Engineering Technician will be a member of the change control team and plays a key role in executing engineering change processes, conducting product testing, and providing technical insights to enhance manufacturing processes and quality. In addition, the Engineering Technician will be a resource to the Operations Assembly Technician team to provide mentorship, training and guidance regarding all products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical assistance to engineering and production teams to resolve manufacturing and product performance issues.
  • Product Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct experiments, analyze results, and recommend improvements under the direction of engineering.
  • Design and Documentation: Create detailed drawings based on existing examples and complete engineering change notices, drawing requests, and print revisions.
  • Process Improvement: Review and update work instructions to reflect best practices and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Failure Analysis: Perform product teardown and root cause analysis to identify potential failure modes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Gather and analyze product data from design of experiments and produce professional reports summarizing findings and improvement recommendations.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide engineering and drafting support to other departments as needed to drive production efficiency and product quality.
  • Engineering Change Process: Execute engineering change processes to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • New product introduction, being first to engage with the new products from the production team and then to facilitate the transfer and training of the assembly team.
  • Informal team leader working with the Value Stream Manager to plan, build and review
Physical Activities Required To Perform Essential Functions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. occasionally, movement within an office complex and in the field.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
  • Ability to work in office, manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and occasional field service environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and move throughout work areas while performing hands‑on technical activities, including product inspection, troubleshooting, teardown, repair/rebuild, testing, data collection, and documentation.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move parts, tools, test equipment, and materials up to 45lbs.; heavier items require team lift or mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to use hand tools, basic test equipment, computers, keyboards, and standard office/manufacturing equipment; visual acuity required for close detail work, inspections, drawings, computer use, and documentation.
  • Work may involve general manufacturing conditions, including noise, moving equipment, chemicals, cleanroom or controlled environments, warehouse areas, and required personal protective equipment.
  • Frequent interaction with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EHS, Facilities, Sales/customer‑facing teams, and other internal stakeholders; occasional interaction with customers, distributors, or field personnel to support investigations, field service, or customer recovery efforts.
  • Occasional travel (including international), typically less than 5%, may be required to support field service activities, investigations, training, and customer recovery efforts.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and hands‑on technical experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, technical service, product repair, failure analysis, equipment support, or similar hands‑on technical environments preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude, with the ability to identify issues, investigate causes, and support practical corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, work instructions, specifications, test requirements, and basic product or equipment documentation.
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair/rebuild, test, and document findings on products, equipment, tooling, or process‑related issues.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, measurement tools, test equipment, computers, and standard manufacturing or office equipment.
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate technical information clearly through reports, verbal updates, and cross‑functional discussions.
  • Practical, improvement‑oriented mindset with strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while knowing when to elevate issues, ask questions, or involve Engineering, Quality, Operations, or other stakeholders.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, Product Failure Analysis & Repair, field service support, equipment reliability, Total Productive Maintenance, Environmental, Health & Safety programs, or sustainability initiatives is preferred.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment.
Engineering Technician - starting at $29.00 to $35.00 per hour + Quarterly Bonus
Hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
