Job summary

Ontic, a leading aerospace OEM, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Chatsworth, CA site on an onsite schedule. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to resolve routine production and engineering issues that affect safety, quality, delivery and performance.

This hands-on role requires practical technical knowledge, a manufacturing mindset, and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Electronics, Aerospace, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• Relevant hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or similarly regulated technical environment.
• Strong practical understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues in a structured manner.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing and assembly operations to help resolve routine production and engineering issues.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, test, and process-related concerns and support timely resolution of issues affecting production flow.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, work instructions, manufacturing routers, and other technical documentation.
• Assist Engineering and Quality with the investigation of product defects, nonconforming material, manufacturing discrepancies, and process concerns.
• Gather technical information, measurements, observations, and supporting data to assist Engineers with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Support the implementation of Engineer-approved corrective actions, process changes, repairs, and technical solutions on the production floor.
• Identify issues that require additional engineering analysis and escalate higher-complexity technical concerns to the appropriate Engineer.
• Support MRB and nonconformance activities by gathering information and assisting with implementation of approved dispositions.
• Assist with the creation, revision, and maintenance of manufacturing procedures, work instructions, technical documentation, and production records.
• Support product and process sustainment activities, including investigation of recurring production issues and opportunities for process improvement.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and manufacturing efficiency.

Our team is looking for an Engineering Technician to join them. You will report to the Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Chatsworth, CA- This is a hands-on technical role supporting manufacturing operations and helping resolve routine engineering and production issues that impact safety, quality, delivery, and operational performance.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering, the Engineering Technician acts as an important link between the production floor and the Engineering team. You will support day-to-day troubleshooting, interpret engineering documentation, assist with investigations, implement approved engineering solutions, and escalat more complex technical issues to the appropriate Engineer.

This role is ideal for someone with strong practical technical knowledge, a manufacturing mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced aerospace production environment.

As an Engineering Technician you will:

• Collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineers, Quality, Operations, Inspection, and other cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure changes are implemented in accordance with approved engineering and quality processes.
• Perform other technical and engineering support activities as required.
