Job summary

Carriage House Club is seeking an Engineering Technician to coordinate repairs and general maintenance of equipment, furniture, masonry and building structures. This year‑round role supports the club’s facilities and operations, ensuring optimal condition and appearance of the property.

Qualifications

• At least two years of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing experience.
• Two years minimum of hospitality experiences.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and painting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates servicing and repairing of lighting, fire, drainage, plumbing, electrical, painting and related maintenance activities.
• Monitors work by outside contractors and reports status to Facilities Manager.
• Maintains maintenance records of equipment and machinery.
• Inspects spaces to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, etc.
• Ensures maintenance, repair and cleaning activities are scheduled and completed.
• Attends staff meetings as needed.
• Collects maintenance/work orders for approval by Facilities Manager.
• Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Assists with special functions by installing decorations and constructing display pieces.
• Performs other duties as directed by Facilities Manager.

Job Summary

The Engineering Technician coordinates all club repairs and general maintenance needed for equipment, furniture, masonry and building structures to maintain the club property in optimal condition and appearance. This is a year-round position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Coordinates the servicing and repairing of systems for lighting, fire, drainage, plumbing, electrical, painting and related maintenance activities.
• Monitors all work done by outside contractors and communicates the status of each project to the Facilities Manager
• Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records of equipment and machinery.
• Visually inspects, public spaces and back of the house areas to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, etc.
• Ensures that all building maintenance, repair and cleaning activities are identified, scheduled and completed.
• Attends staff meetings as needed
• Collects maintenance and work orders from department heads for approval by the Facilities Manager
• Maintains inventory of maintenance, repair and related supplies.
• Assists with preparation of special functions, parties, tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and constructing display pieces.
• Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Facilities Manager

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.
• Two years minimum of hospitality experiences.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and painting.
• Assists other engineering staff with repairs to locks, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, minor carpentry work, etc.
• Reports major repairs to supervisor for correction.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
• Frequent repetitive motions.
• Continuous standing and walking.
