About the Position

This position will be filled at the GS-9 level. This position will be part of our Engineering Office at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD).

Specialized Experience

GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 level which includes:

  • Performing research to determine equipment layout, installation, and operation;
  • Resolving discrepancies with engineering data;
  • Determining the best courses of action for problem resolution.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

OR Education: I have successfully completed two years or (i.e., 27 semester hours) of graduate level education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as electrician or electrical engineering tech. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: I have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have more than one year but less than the required education in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

GS-9 Time in Grade Requirement

Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-08).
