Overview

The Holley Tuning Group is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Domestic Tuning team in the development, testing, validation, and launch of embedded tuning platforms and vehicle support expansions. This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, mechanically inclined, technically curious, and comfortable working across multiple teams in a fast‑moving development environment.

The Engineering Technician will play a key role in real‑world vehicle validation, product testing, defect documentation, hardware and software integration, and pre‑release support. This position requires strong troubleshooting ability, critical thinking, flexibility, and a willingness to jump in where needed to keep development moving forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate directly with firmware, calibration, software, and engineering teams during development and pre‑release validation of embedded tuning platforms and vehicle support expansions.
  • Support the Domestic Tuning team with real‑world validation testing across multiple OEM platforms, including Jeep, Ram, Ford, GM, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles.
  • Identify, document, reproduce, and clearly communicate software, firmware, hardware, and usability defects throughout validation, alpha, and beta testing phases.
  • Evaluate software and firmware fixes, perform follow‑up testing, and validate corrective actions before public product release.
  • Design, improve, and innovate testing processes to capture required data, improve repeatability, and increase validation efficiency.
  • Install, test fit, and validate hardware and software integration across multiple vehicle platforms while documenting fitment concerns, installation issues, and recommended improvements.
  • Coordinate vehicle acquisition and testing logistics to support ongoing development needs.
  • Independently source test vehicles when needed to maintain development momentum and reduce delays caused by limited external beta testing availability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local performance shops, vehicle owners, and beta testers to expand real‑world testing coverage.
  • Develop technical documentation, internal notes, and support resources used by technical support teams for new product launches and vehicle platform additions.
  • Occasionally represent Holley brands at trade shows, consumer events, and enthusiast gatherings by demonstrating products, gathering real‑world customer feedback, and helping build brand credibility at the ground level.
  • Maintain a small inventory of product devices, test hardware, tools, and facility supplies.
  • Assist with facility fleet maintenance needs, including scheduling oil changes, coordinating service, and helping keep vehicles clean and ready for testing.
  • Assist other teams with securing vehicles on the dyno, supporting dyno testing preparation, and helping with basic dyno maintenance as needed.
  • Support additional tasks as needed in a dynamic engineering and product development environment.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma required
  • Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues across vehicles, software, firmware, and hardware.
  • Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and comfort working around vehicles, tools, test equipment, and shop environments.
  • Ability to clearly document test results, defects, vehicle behavior, installation findings, and validation outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with engineering, calibration, firmware, software, technical support, and product teams.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, processes, platforms, and vehicle systems.
  • Team‑player mindset with the ability to support multiple priorities and departments when needed.
  • Dynamic, agile approach to work with the ability to adapt quickly as project needs change.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and keep development activities moving forward with minimal supervision.
  • Must be comfortable with a role that is broad, hands‑on, and not limited to narrowly defined duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automotive performance products, vehicle tuning, diagnostics, or aftermarket electronics.
  • Familiarity with domestic vehicle platforms, especially Jeep, Ram, Ford, GM, Dodge, and Chrysler applications.
  • Experience with embedded devices, calibration tools, data logging, scan tools, or vehicle communication systems.
  • Experience working in a shop, dyno, motorsports, performance, dealership, or automotive testing environment.
  • Ability to trailer, move, or coordinate test vehicles is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting beta testing, product validation, or technical documentation is beneficial.
