Job summary

REFAB, a DeWys Metal Solutions Company, in Grand Haven, MI, seeks an Engineering Technician to bridge Engineering and Manufacturing. You will turn customer designs into CAD drawings, routings, and BOMs, and produce documentation our teams rely on to build high‑quality products.

You will work directly with engineers and shop floor personnel, solving problems and seeing how your work impacts production. A hands-on role with CAD emphasis.

Qualifications

• This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and basic manufacturing knowledge.
• 2 years of related experience or additional education is preferred, but combinations will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Create and update CAD drawings, prints, templates, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop manufacturing routings and bills of materials.
• Create internal print packages from customer drawings and parts.
• Maintain control plans and other engineering documentation.
• Support engineers with projects and CAD detailing.
• Assist shop floor teams with engineering questions and problem solving.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to troubleshoot issues and keep jobs moving.
• Participate in continuous improvement and special projects.

Do you enjoy working with CAD, solving technical problems, and seeing your work come to life on the manufacturing floor?

We’re looking for an Engineering Technician to join the REFAB team. In this role, you’ll work alongside Engineering and Manufacturing to turn customer designs into drawings, routings, bills of materials, and documentation our teams need to build great products.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical work but doesn’t want to spend every day behind a desk. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with engineers and shop floor team members, solve problems, and see firsthand how your work impacts production.

What You’ll Do

You’ll help connect Engineering with the people making our products every day. Your work will include:

• Creating and updating CAD drawings, prints, templates, and manufacturing documentation
• Developing manufacturing routings and bills of materials
• Creating internal manufacturing print packages from customer drawings and parts
• Maintaining control plans and other engineering documentation
• Supporting engineers with projects and CAD detailing
• Helping answer engineering-related questions on the shop floor
• Working with Manufacturing to troubleshoot problems and keep jobs moving
• Participating in continuous improvement and special projects

What We're Looking For

You don't need to check every box. We're looking for someone who is technical, curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both computers and people.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience using CAD software
• Experience creating or modifying technical or engineering drawings
• An understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation
• Familiarity with routings, bills of materials, control plans, or similar manufacturing information
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• The ability to communicate and work well with engineers and shop floor team members

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Two years of related experience or additional education is preferred, but we're open to different combinations of education and hands-on experience.

Previous experience in manufacturing, engineering, metal fabrication, or a similar environment is a plus.
