Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Richardson, TX. You will maintain manufacturing equipment reliability, support production efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across workcells.

Responsibilities include PMs, escalation handling, mentoring technicians, and supporting NPI activities to maximize uptime and yields. Strong troubleshooting and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify root causes, collect data, analyze information, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with technicians, supervisors, and management.
  • Proficiency using Windows-based computer systems and maintenance-related software applications.
  • Advanced PC skills, including familiarity with Jabil software systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents, visual aids, and work instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and graph interpretation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes like dispensing, router de-paneling, equipment maintenance practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of workplace safety requirements and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and complete all required maintenance records
  • Determine maintenance priorities based on production schedules and coordinate with department and line supervisors
  • Serve as the first point of contact within the equipment support escalation process
  • Provide frontline support between Machine Support and Manufacturing teams
  • Train and mentor Machine Support Technicians
  • Analyze recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective solutions
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and prototype production runs
  • Provide technical leadership and escalation support to Machine Support Technicians
  • Drive improvements in manufacturing metrics, equipment efficiency, and product yields
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment operations
  • Ensure 100% on-time completion of preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain equipment downtime below established targets
  • Promote and maintain compliance with all Health & Safety requirements
  • Measure departmental performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Location/Division Specific Information


  • Schedule: Monday - Friday

  • 2nd Shift | 3:00PM - 11:00PM

  • Compensation: Hourly

  • Location: 2910 Telecom Parkway, Richardson, TX 75082


How will you make an impact?

You will play a critical role in maintaining manufacturing equipment reliability, supporting production efficiency, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. By serving as the first point of escalation for equipment issues, you will help maximize uptime, improve yields, support new product introductions, and ensure safe, compliant manufacturing operations. This role provides technical leadership and equipment support to manufacturing workcells, ensuring optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and continuous process improvement.


What will you do?

How will you get here?

Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Experience


  • 10 years' experience supporting manufacturing equipment in a production environment.

  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on PCBA production equipment

  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or automated manufacturing equipment

  • Experience training and supporting technical personnel preferred

  • Experience supporting NPI activities and continuous improvement initiatives preferred

Preferred Qualifications


  • Technical degree or certification in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field

  • Experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience

  • Leadership or mentoring experience within a maintenance or manufacturing organization
